A Holiday Message from Chancellor Rose

A

Dear friends and colleagues,

As I reflect on this year and the fact that we have just passed the winter solstice – the darkest day of the
year – I remain hopeful for a better year ahead. There have been so many lessons this year, and for me
personally, at the end of this difficult year, I am inspired. I am inspired by all of you who have worked
harder than ever to alleviate burdens wrought by this pandemic, by the international cries to build a more
just and inclusive world moving forward, and by the compassion and basic humanity demonstrated by our families and neighbors.

My holiday wish for all of you is that you find hope and peace as we end this year, as well. I hope you
take the time to care for yourselves and others during this season of light. Be safe and encourage safety.
Find and spread joy.

I appreciate your kindness and commitment to our higher education system, to our institutions, to our
state, and to each other.

I wish you a joyful and hopeful holiday season and happy new year.

Warmly,

Melody Rose, Ph.D., Chancellor

Nevada System of Higher Education
