The presidents of NSHE’s institutions adopted graduation and persistence rates and set goals (see below) for 2025 at the first ever Student Success Summit on Thursday.

“Today, best practices among our higher education colleges and universities were shared along with national evidence-based practices that have improved student success rates,” said Chancellor Thom Reilly. “Student Success must be at the forefront of thinking at all levels of Nevada’s higher education system, from our presidents to the professors in the classroom.”

Regents Chair Kevin Page said the institutions have adopted strategies to help students in danger of dropping out and getting them the assistance needed.

“The Presidents and Board identified the resources necessary to scale up or implement successful programs to meet their goals,” Page said. “The transparency of the Summit and the strategies and goals adopted will also allow for better accountability for our NSHE institution leaders.”

As an integrated system NSHE’s institutions, UNLV, University of Nevada, Reno, the College of Southern Nevada; Great Basin College; Nevada State College; Truckee Meadows Community College; Western Nevada College; and Desert Research Institute, can address all higher education needs from community college through doctoral and professional programs.
