Public invited to participate in town hall with U.S. Secretary of Education
The Nevada System of Higher Education and the College of Southern Nevada are encouraging the public to attend a town hall discussion about education and the economy with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Moderated by Chancellor Dan Klaich, the panel discussion will include community leaders in an open dialogue about education issues impacting student achievement and economic competitiveness.
“Nevada’s education system plays a critical role in our state’s economy and will take on an even greater role as we seek to create a better educated workforce and to better align our education system with economic opportunities,” said Klaich. “Nevada’s students are our future and it will take a community effort to make sure we are providing them with the right access and quality to ensure their success and ultimately, the success of our state.”
The town hall meeting is open to students, parents, educators, administrators and members of the community.
