Di Mare appointed president at Colorado State University-Pueblo
Dr. Lesley Di Mare, president of Nevada State College, announced today that she has accepted the presidency of Colorado State University-Pueblo. She will start her new position in early 2012.
Lesley has been a remarkable leader for Nevada State College and has done an outstanding job of steering the institution through difficult economic times and in achieving that incredible milestone of the college’s final accreditation which was received this year from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities,” said Chancellor Dan Klaich. “She is a visionary and while we will miss her in Nevada, we wish her the best in her new venture in Colorado.”
“It has been a true honor to serve at Nevada State College since 2007,” added Di Mare. “Nevada State College is a remarkable institution that is making a real difference in our community. I feel fortunate to have worked with such extraordinary students, faculty, and staff at NSC.”
Klaich stated there are no immediate plans to appoint an interim president and that he will be meeting with leadership from the Board of Regents and the NSC campus community to discuss the next steps in the presidential search process.
Di Mare was appointed interim president of Nevada State College in August 2010. She previously served as provost and vice president of academic affairs of Nevada State College since July 2007.
Prior to her tenure at NSC, Di Mare served Arizona State University as associate vice provost for undergraduate initiatives and academic programs. She received her doctorate from Indiana University, her master’s degree from California State University-Hayward, and her bachelor’s degree from California State University-Chico.
