Text:

The Nevada System of Higher Education is excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2024 Southern Nevada Diversity Summit, a collaborative effort between UNLV, Nevada State University, College of Southern Nevada, and the Desert Research Institute. Set to take place at Nevada State University on October 4, 2024, this summit aims to advance diversity and inclusion in higher education in an era where such values face unprecedented challenges.

Hosted by the UNLV Office of Diversity Initiatives, the summit seeks proposals for presentations, workshops, roundtables, posters, and panels under the theme: “Good Trouble: Advancing the Legacies of Diversity & Inclusion in an Anti-DEI Era.” The goal is to engage Nevada’s faculty, staff, students and community partners in meaningful dialog and action.

The Southern Nevada Diversity Summit serves as a platform for professional development, offering opportunities to delve into topics of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion within higher education. This event is open and free of charge to all Nevada faculty, staff, students, and community partners. However, due to limited space for in-person attendance, early registration is encouraged.
