The College of Southern Nevada is proud to join UNLV, UNR and Truckee Meadows Community College, all of the Nevada System of Higher Education, in welcoming the 2023 Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAEI) to Las Vegas this month.

Hosted by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) to which CSN President Dr. Federico Zaragoza sits on the Board of Directors, this prestigious conference, with a strong commitment to international academic and scientific collaboration, brings together the main actors and decision-makers related to the internationalization of higher education in the Americas to strengthen contacts, exchange experiences, and chart the future of the academic cooperation in the region.

“We are thrilled to partner with NSHE institutions to host the eighth edition of the conference in Las Vegas this year and in the United States for the very first time,” said Dr. David Julien, Executive director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education. “By bringing together a large delegation of Canadian, American, Latin American and Caribbean leading thought leaders, we will reshape the future of international education in our continent.”

This year’s conference, hosted by the NSHE institutions in Las Vegas, follows the most recent conferences in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Canada, Ecuador, and Mexico. The three-day event begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, November 6, at the Mirage Hotel, with presidents of UNLV, UNR, TMCC and CSN speaking. CSN President Zaragoza will officially open the conference. An estimated 1,000 attendees from across the Americas are slated to attend.

“Nevada is honored to welcome government leaders, college and university presidents, and higher education system experts to Las Vegas, where they can share a common space and come together to share paradigms, theories and proven best practices in international higher education.”

Patricia Charlton, NSHE chancellor.

This eighth edition of the conference has established itself as the essential forum where leaders and decision-makers, international experts, distinguished academics, and representatives from higher education institutions come together to strengthen their collaborations and advance new opportunities for the internationalization of higher education in the Americas.
