NSHE issues College Access Grant

The

The Nevada System of Higher Education is seeking applications from public higher education institutions and nonprofit community-based organizations to increase the number of high school students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP) is a Federal program designed to increase the number of K-12 students who pursue and complete some form of training or education beyond high school. The Nevada System of Higher Education was awarded the CACG and will issue sub-grants. Selected applicants will receive an annual budget along with technical assistance in order to provide students and their significant adults with services designed to address the goals of the program.

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) will focus its College Access Challenge Grant (CACG) efforts to dramatically increase the number of new college entrants, particularly for low-income, underrepresented and/or underserved students in the state.

The following grants will be made available:

  1. Up to $60,000, depending on the scope of activities and the number of high schools served.
  2. Up to $150,000 may be awarded for a larger collaborative partnership that serves five (5) or more high schools.  

The Request for Proposal will be made available on Tuesday, September 7th. 

The due date is October 1, 2010, 4:00pm PST. Proposals must be returned electronically.  No other forms will be accepted.
