NSHE Mourns Passing of Robyn Render

The

Robyn Render, vice chancellor for information technology for the Nevada System of Higher Education, passed away Wednesday, following a long illness.

“I am quite frankly without words to express my personal and professional sense of loss,” said Chancellor Dan Klaich. “Robyn Render was an inspiration to me on so many levels and a peerless servant and employee of the System. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”

Render joined the Nevada System of Higher Education in August 2009 as vice chancellor for information technology. In that position, she oversaw the operation of System Computing Services and played a critical role in the launch of Nevada’s first integrated system-wide student services application.

From July 2008 to June 2009, Render served as iNtegrate project director and IT strategist for the implementation of the $30 million PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and related applications for seven NSHE institutions.

Previously, Render held the position of vice president for information resources and chief information officer for the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She earned an A.S. and B.S. in information systems from the University of Cincinnati, as well as an M.A. in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.
