A Thanksgiving Message from NSHE Chancellor Rose

The

Dear friends and colleagues,

As we pause for this unique Thanksgiving holiday, I have been considering the words of Charles Dickens: Reflect upon your present blessings, of which everyone has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all have some.

I think it is fair to say we all have lost something this year. Some of us have sustained devastating losses. But we cannot let those misfortunes quash our hopes for a better future.

What we do in higher education – learning, teaching, research, and creative activities – can empower the individual and brighten our world.

This Thanksgiving I want to express my gratitude to you and all you do to make your family, your institution, your community, and our world a better place every day. I am proud to work with you and like you, look forward to better days ahead.

Thank you, be safe, and have a joyous Thanksgiving holiday.

Warmly,

Melody Rose, Ph.D., Chancellor
