CSN submitted its application to the U.S. Department of Education in December 2014 to be eligible to apply for grants and become the first federally designated HSI in Nevada. This was followed by NSC (2016), UNLV (2017), TMCC (2017), WNC (2019) being designated as eligible HSI\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Task Force<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The HSI Task Force provides a system-wide approach in supporting NSHE\u2019s institutions as they work toward receiving full HSI designation, enabling them to compete for federal grants.
