The Board of Regents also awarded the \u201cSam Lieberman Regents\u2019 Award for Student Scholarship\u201d winners for 2024, honoring nine students for their academic achievements, leadership ability, and service contributions throughout the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sam Lieberman Regents\u2019 Award for Student Scholarship<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Formerly known as the Regents\u2019 Scholar Award, the \u201cSam Lieberman Regents\u2019 Award for Student Scholarship\u201d was renamed for Regent Sam Lieberman who passed away in 2020, in commemoration of his service and dedication to public higher education in Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each recipient will receive a $5,000 stipend funded by the Nevada System of Higher Education System Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/file\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2024\/03-mar-mtgs\/refs\/arsa\/ARSA-6.pdf\"><strong>honorees include<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zachary Billot, UNLV \u2013 Undergraduate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alixe Bunyard, TMCC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sarah Crews, GBC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alessandro Ralls, UNR \u2013 Graduate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alexander Rankin, NSU<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suzanna Stankute, WNC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rebecca Taylor, CSN<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emylia Terry, UNLV \u2013 Graduate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Micah Woodruff, UNR \u2013 Undergraduate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nevada Regents\u2019 Outstanding Classified Staff Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents\u2019 Outstanding Classified Staff Award is given annually to staff members with distinguished classified service. One award will be granted annually to a full-time member of the classified staff who provides outstanding service in support of the institution and\/or classified staff. The honoree receives a $3,000 stipend. This award recognizes significant accomplishments which bring recognition, as well as national and international stature, to the Nevada System of Higher Education. The honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. This award honors outstanding instructional contributions to the Nevada System of Higher Education. Each honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. This award honors outstanding academic student advising with one award granted to a community college advisor and two awards granted to advisors at the state university or universities. Each honoree receives a $5,000 stipend. This award is bestowed upon faculty members with a substantial record of accomplishments, including a significant amount of research and scholarly work with recognition, clear evidence of the national and\/or international stature of the research, and in the case of grants and contracts, must have been competitive on a national or international level. The honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. This award is bestowed upon faculty members from each Nevada research institution in recognition of their early-career accomplishments and potential for future advancement and recognition in research. The honoree receives a $2,000 award.
