The Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents\u2019 Academic, Research and Student Affairs Committee approved the establishment of four new programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) aimed at providing support and improving community and state-wide issues in the areas of financial literacy, behavioral health, tourism safety and the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNLV Institute for Financial Literacy and Wellness <\/h2><\/div>
<\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/div>

The institute will support financial education, information, resources, and tools to promote financial wellness for the university and southern Nevada communities. UNLV Behavioral Health Education, Retention, and Expansion Network of Nevada: BeHERE NV<\/h2><\/div>
<\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/rect><\/svg><\/div>

This program will provide outreach and education about behavioral health professions to K-12 and adult learners; expand behavioral health training programs within higher education with an emphasis on building a diverse workforce; increase post-graduate internships and the number of approved supervisors; and offer support to the existing Nevada behavioral health workforce through continuing education and technical assistance. UNLV Tourist Safety Institute <\/h2><\/div>

Institute researchers will work with local, state, and federal authorities to develop community resilience solutions and policies that enhance the safety and well-being of Nevada\u2019s tourists and the tourism industry. UNLV College of Fine Arts Bachelor of Arts in Creative Practice<\/h2><\/div>

The program will help students who are looking to shape the future of the arts in an entrepreneurial way as arts leaders or those who have already achieved a number of credits toward a professional arts degree but are looking for opportunities to reframe and synthesize knowledge and experience in the arts to use in other fields as creatives.<\/p>\nOrganizational Unit Proposal Form for the UNLV College of Fine Arts Bachelor of Arts in Creative Practice<\/span><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Institute for Financial Literacy and Wellness, BeHERE NV, and Tourist Safety Institute were set to be implemented upon approval by the Board.
