{"id":33431,"date":"2026-03-16T08:36:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T15:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=news&#038;p=33431"},"modified":"2026-03-16T08:36:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T15:36:22","slug":"nshe-names-brody-leiser-as-vice-chancellor-of-budget-and-finance","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2026\/03\/nshe-names-brody-leiser-as-vice-chancellor-of-budget-and-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"NSHE Names Brody Leiser as Vice Chancellor of Budget and Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has named Brody Leiser as Vice Chancellor of Budget and Finance and Chief Financial Officer for System Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leiser brings more than 20 years of fiscal leadership experience with the State of Nevada, including senior roles overseeing multi-billion-dollar budgets, revenue forecasting, federal fund allocation, and legislative policy implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most recently, Leiser served as Chief Principal Deputy Fiscal Analyst for the Fiscal Analysis Division of the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau. In that role, he helped lead analysis and implementation of the state\u2019s biennial budget and worked closely with lawmakers on fiscal policy and budget legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStrong financial leadership is essential to supporting our institutions and the students they serve,\u201d said Board of Regents Chair Byron Brooks. \u201cBrody\u2019s experience in public finance and his work on Nevada\u2019s state budget will be a valuable asset to the Nevada System of Higher Education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBrody brings a deep understanding of Nevada\u2019s budget process and a long record of public service,\u201d said NSHE Chancellor Matt McNair. \u201cHis experience working with lawmakers and managing complex budgets will be invaluable as we continue strengthening financial stewardship across the Nevada System of Higher Education. We are excited to welcome him to the NSHE team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in his career, Leiser served as Deputy Director of the Nevada Department of Taxation, where he led operations within the Administrative Services Division, including budget development, accounting, tax distribution, and financial reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to join the Nevada System of Higher Education and support the important work happening across our institutions,\u201d Leiser said. \u201cNSHE plays a vital role in expanding opportunity for students and strengthening Nevada\u2019s workforce and economy. I look forward to working with campus leaders and colleagues across the system to ensure strong financial stewardship that supports students, faculty, and communities throughout the state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leiser succeeds Chris Viton, who is returning to UNLV to serve as its next Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer.
