She officially began her term during the 2025 ACCT Leadership Congress in New Orleans, where education leaders from across the country gathered to discuss the future of community colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A member of the NSHE Board of Regents since 2017, Del Carlo represents District 9, which includes Carson City and Churchill, Douglas, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, and Storey counties, as well as rural southern Washoe County, including Incline Village. She has previously served as both vice chair and chair pro tempore of the Board. She was the first Nevadan elected to the ACCT Board of Directors, where she most recently served as chair-elect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her presiding year, Del Carlo says she plans to carry out the ACCT Board\u2019s recently adopted strategic priorities with an emphasis on the board\u2019s role in supporting and ensuring the well-being of our institutional leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to serve as Chair of the ACCT Board and to represent Nevada\u2019s community colleges on a national stage,\u201d said <strong>Regent Carol Del Carlo<\/strong>. \u201cCommunity colleges open doors for students of all backgrounds.
