{"id":32774,"date":"2025-09-12T13:33:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T20:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=news&#038;p=32774"},"modified":"2025-09-12T13:34:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T20:34:06","slug":"nshe-board-of-regents-advances-leadership-transition-at-nevada-state-university","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2025\/09\/nshe-board-of-regents-advances-leadership-transition-at-nevada-state-university\/","title":{"rendered":"NSHE Board of Regents Advances Leadership Transition at Nevada State University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents approved next steps for leadership at Nevada State University, authorizing the selection of an acting president to guide the university during this period of transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The action follows a recommendation by Chancellor Matt McNair, developed in consultation with Board Chair Byron Brooks and Vice Chair Stephanie Goodman and informed by input from Nevada State\u2019s campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis decision allows us to move forward with identifying an acting president for Nevada State,\u201d said <strong>Board of Regents Chair Byron Brooks<\/strong>. \u201cThis step ensures that the university will have dedicated leadership in place as we continue this important transition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada State\u2019s mission remains front and center,\u201d said <strong>Chancellor Matt McNair<\/strong>. \u201cWe will keep students, faculty, and staff informed as we name an acting president. Our focus is a smooth transition and the continued success of the university.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former President Dr. DeRionne Pollard stepped down on September 5, 2025, to accept a national leadership role.
