The position is now open for applications and nominations as the Board seeks a permanent leader to guide the system in advancing higher education across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ad hoc Chancellor Search Committee, chaired by Regent Susan Brager, has partnered with Greenwood Asher &amp; Associates, a nationally recognized search firm specializing in higher education leadership. The firm worked with the committee to develop a comprehensive leadership profile and to ensure the search is inclusive and thorough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur focus is on finding a leader who can address the challenges and opportunities unique to Nevada, ensuring that NSHE continues to serve as a cornerstone of educational excellence and economic development in the state,\u201d said <strong>Amy J. Carvalho, Chair of the NSHE Board of Regents<\/strong>. \u201cThe Chancellor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of higher education in Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Chancellor Role<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chancellor serves as NSHE\u2019s chief executive officer, overseeing a diverse system that includes two doctoral-granting research universities, a state university, four community colleges, and one environmental research institute. Collectively, these institutions serve more than 100,000 students annually, making NSHE a vital driver of Nevada\u2019s workforce and economic growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents seeks a leader who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrates a commitment to student success and educational equity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brings a strategic vision for addressing Nevada\u2019s workforce needs and advancing research, innovation, and community partnerships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exhibits exceptional leadership and collaboration skills to support diverse institutions and stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Values transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in decision-making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chancellor will be responsible for advancing NSHE\u2019s mission of fostering access, success, and excellence while addressing the evolving educational and economic needs of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications and nominations are now being accepted.
