This ongoing program is designed to promote unity across the community, using visible symbols of support and healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-content-justification-center is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"min-height: 315px; display: block; margin: 1rem auto 2.5rem;\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gtCdrzRHKRs?si=_N-CPN6JEVE1amYQ\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the initiative, UPD officers will wear specially designed patches to spark dialogue and promote awareness about causes such as domestic violence prevention, cancer awareness, and sexual assault awareness. The first in this series, the <strong>&#8220;UNLV Strong&#8221;<\/strong> memorial patch, debuted in December, marking one year since the December 6<sup>th<\/sup> shooting. This tribute highlights the strength and unity of NSHE while honoring those lost and those who continue to heal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis initiative is a visible reminder of our dedication to fostering awareness and honoring resilience across our NSHE community,\u201d said <strong>Arnold Vasquez, Interim Director of University Police Services, Southern Command<\/strong>. \u201cThe \u2018UNLV Strong\u2019 patch symbolizes both the strength of the UNLV community and our ongoing commitment to standing alongside those we serve during times of challenge and healing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUniversity Police Services continues to demonstrate their commitment to supporting our campus communities through initiatives like this,\u201d said <strong>Board Chair Amy J. Carvalho.<\/strong> \u201cThe &#8216;UNLV Strong&#8217; patch reflects NSHE\u2019s shared dedication to fostering safety, healing, and awareness across all of our institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSHE <strong>Chancellor Patricia Charlton<\/strong> shared her support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Memorial and Awareness initiative reflects the compassion and unity that define NSHE.
