It is bestowed upon prominent individuals who have made significant achievements that have contributed to the cultural, scientific or social advancement of Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2013\/oct-mtgs\/BOR-6a.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Gregory W. Each honoree receives a $5,000 stipend. The 2014 honorees are (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/bor-refs\/BOR-10j.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">click to view all Regents&#8217; Scholars nominations<\/a>):&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Carlos Holguin<\/strong>, College of Southern Nevada<\/li><li><strong>Jasmine Dulgar<\/strong>, Great Basin College<\/li><li><strong>Nicole Lee<\/strong>,&nbsp;Truckee Meadows Community College<\/li><li><strong>Ian Greenlee<\/strong>, Western Nevada College<\/li><li><strong>Josh Ranck<\/strong>, Nevada State College<\/li><li><strong>Brittany Radke<\/strong>,&nbsp;University of Nevada, Las Vegas (undergraduate)<\/li><li><strong>David Armstrong<\/strong>, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (graduate)<\/li><li><strong>Steven DelaCruz<\/strong>, University of Nevada, Reno (undergraduate)<\/li><li><strong>Daniel Mayes<\/strong>, University of Nevada, Reno (graduate)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regents&#8217; Creative Activities Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents established the Regents&#8217; Award for Creative Activities in 1993. This award recognizes significant accomplishments which bring recognition, as well as national and international stature, to the Nevada System of Higher Education. The honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. The 2014 honoree is&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/asa-refs\/ASA-7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Donald Revell<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regents&#8217; Teaching Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1996, the Board of Regents approved the establishment of the annual Regents&#8217; Teaching Award. This award honors outstanding instructional contributions to the Nevada System of Higher Education. Two awards are granted yearly, one from UNLV, UNR, NSC or DRI, and the other from CSN, GBC, TMCC or WNC. Each honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. The 2014 honorees are&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/asa-refs\/ASA-7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Raiford<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>of the College of Southern Nevada and<strong>&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/asa-refs\/ASA-7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Gwen Sharp<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>of Nevada State College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Academic Advisors Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents established the Regents&#8217; Academic Advising Award in 1998. This award honors outstanding academic student advising with one award granted to a community college advisor and two awards granted to advisors at the state college or universities. Each honoree receives a $5,000 stipend. The 2014 honorees are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Erika Bein,&nbsp;<\/strong>Truckee Meadows Community College<\/li><li><strong>Tiffany Schmier<\/strong>,&nbsp;University of Nevada, Las Vegas (undergraduate)<\/li><li><strong>Dr. Cheryll Glotfelty<\/strong>, University of Nevada, Reno (graduate).&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/asa-refs\/ASA-7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">(Click to view all Academic Advisor Award nominations.)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regents&#8217; Researcher Award&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents established the Regents&#8217; Researcher Award in 1992. This award is bestowed upon faculty members with a substantial record of accomplishments, including a significant amount of research and scholarly work with recognition, clear evidence of the national and\/or international stature of the research, and in the case of grants and contracts, must have been competitive on a national or international level. The honoree receives a $5,000 stipend and a medal. The 2014 honoree is&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/wred-refs\/WRED-4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Alison Murray<\/a><\/strong> of the Desert Research Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regents&#8217; Rising Researcher Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Regents established the Regents&#8217; Rising Researcher Award in 2008. This award is bestowed upon one faculty member at each Nevada research institution in recognition of their early-career accomplishments and potential for future advancement and recognition in research. The 2014 honorees are&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Katherine Hertlein<\/strong>, University of Nevada, Las Vegas;&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Kam K. Cox<\/a><\/strong>, Honorary Doctorate, UNLV<\/li><li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/system.nevada.edu\/tasks\/sites\/Nshe\/assets\/File\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2014\/mar-mtgs\/bor-refs\/BOR-11c.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">John R.
