{"id":1405,"date":"2019-03-01T15:34:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-01T15:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=nshe_news&#038;p=1405"},"modified":"2023-02-21T17:20:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:20:59","slug":"regents-approve-predictable-pricing-program-for-college-tuition","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2019\/03\/regents-approve-predictable-pricing-program-for-college-tuition\/","title":{"rendered":"Regents Approve Predictable Pricing Program for College Tuition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Nevada Board of Regents approved a Predictable Pricing Program that will ensure students in public higher education are aware of the base tuition fees for at least a four-year period, so they can appropriately budget for tuition expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Predictable Pricing Program&#8221; will base future registration fees and non-resident tuition for undergraduate and graduate students <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commonfund.org\/higher-education-price-index\">on the Higher Education Price Index (HEPI)<\/a>, an index that tracks the inflation college costs, on a four-year cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will apply to all of the Nevada System of Higher Education\u2019s (NSHE) seven-degree granting institions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regents Chair Kevin J. Page said this was an important step that will help the more than 100,000 students who attend NSHE&#8217;s public higher education institutions appropriately budget for tuition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;College affordability and price predictability are important factors in providing access to higher education,\u201d Page said. \u201cThis program will go a long way in helping students and parents plan for the cost of college.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an integrated system NSHE\u2019s institutions, UNLV, University of Nevada, Reno, the College of Southern Nevada; Great Basin College; Nevada State College; Truckee Meadows Community College; Western Nevada College; and Desert Research Institute, can address all higher education needs from community college through doctoral and professional programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1273,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[39,6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1405","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-39","category-press-release"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/1405","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1405"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1273"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1405"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1405"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1405"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
