The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents were presented with metrics from the Desert Research Institute and Truckee Meadows Community College relating to their performance in the areas of Access, Student Success, Closing the Achievement Gap, Workforce Education, and Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The metrics were presented by DRI<\/a> President Kumud Acharya and TMCC<\/a> President Karin Hilgersom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Board of Regents Chair Jason Geddes said the metrics will increase transparency about how Nevada\u2019s public higher education institutions are performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Board of Regents are committed to improving our state\u2019s higher education system and these metrics will show what is working and is not working at our institutions,\u201d Geddes said. \u201cI am encouraged by the commitment by our institutions to improve our institutions in terms of student access and success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chancellor Thom Reilly added, \u201cThe metrics associated with these goals serve as a litmus test for measuring change in the system. And these 2025 goals will allow us to show our growth and improvement to Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n NSHE\u2019s strategic goals guide all eight NSHE institutions in supporting the state\u2019s growing economy with an increasing demand for an educated workforce.
