Sisolak Signs Four Public Higher Education Bills into Law at NSHE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Governor Steve Sisolak visited the Nevada System of Higher Education system administration Las Vegas office on Wednesday, where he signed four new bills passed during the 81<sup>st<\/sup> Legislative Session impacting Nevada\u2019s public higher education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bills signed include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/legiscan.com\/NV\/bill\/SB434\/2021\">SB434<\/a> &#8211;&nbsp;Makes a $25 million appropriation to the Governor&#8217;s Office of Finance for the construction of the UNLV Medical Education Building.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/App\/NELIS\/REL\/81st2021\/Bill\/7840\/Overview\">AB319<\/a> \u2013 Establishes a pilot program relating to dual credit courses.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/legiscan.com\/NV\/bill\/SB347\/2021\">SB347<\/a> &#8211; Requires establishment of a new Task Force and systemwide climate survey regarding Title IX and sexual misconduct.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/legiscan.com\/NV\/bill\/SB310\/2021\">SB310<\/a> &#8211;&nbsp;Makes a $400,000 appropriation to NSHE and authorizes the disbursement of certain federal money to enable the College of Southern Nevada to fund the NV Grow Program.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Board of Regents Chair Mark Doubrava lauded Governor Sisolak and the Legislature for their work to strengthen Nevada\u2019s public higher education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThanks to Gov. Sisolak and Nevada\u2019s legislature, NSHE\u2019s institutions are primed to help our state\u2019s economic recovery after the distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d Chair Doubrava said. \u201cAnd Gov.
