{"id":1194,"date":"2021-06-11T15:08:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-11T15:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=nshe_news&#038;p=1194"},"modified":"2023-02-21T17:18:30","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:18:30","slug":"nshe-board-of-regents-receives-institutional-metrics-for-dri-tmcc","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2021\/06\/nshe-board-of-regents-receives-institutional-metrics-for-dri-tmcc\/","title":{"rendered":"NSHE Board of Regents Receives Institutional Metrics for DRI, TMCC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Desert Research Institute and Truckee Meadows Community College presented he Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents with updated metrics relating to the institutions\u2019 performance in the areas of Access, Student Success, Closing the Achievement Gap, Workforce Education, and Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The metrics were presented by <a href=\"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/file\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2021\/06-jun-mtgs\/bor-refs\/BOR-18.pdf\">DRI President Kumud Acharya<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/file\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2021\/06-jun-mtgs\/bor-refs\/BOR-12.pdf\">TMCC President Karin Hilgersom<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe metrics associated with these goals serve as a gauge for measuring continuous improvement in the system,\u201d Board of Regents Chair Mark Doubrava said. \u201cThe 2025 goals allow us to track our growth and improvement for the people of Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chancellor Melody Rose added the metrics help increase transparency and accountability for how Nevada\u2019s public higher education institutions are performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNSHE is committed to improving our state\u2019s higher education system and these metrics will show what is working and where we need additional effort at our institutions,\u201d Rose said. \u201cI am encouraged by the commitment of our institutions to improve student access and success, especially at this moment of tremendous challenges to the health and financial stability of our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSHE\u2019s strategic goals guide all eight NSHE institutions in supporting the state\u2019s growing economy with an increasing demand for an educated workforce.
