{"id":1166,"date":"2021-08-20T15:14:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-20T15:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=nshe_news&#038;p=1166"},"modified":"2023-02-21T17:18:19","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:18:19","slug":"state-board-of-health-to-require-the-covid-19-vaccine-for-nshe-students","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2021\/08\/state-board-of-health-to-require-the-covid-19-vaccine-for-nshe-students\/","title":{"rendered":"State Board of Health to Require the COVID-19 Vaccine for NSHE Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dpbh.nv.gov\/Boards\/BOH\/Board_of_Health_(BOH)_-_home\/\">State Board of Health<\/a> unanimously voted during an emergency meeting Friday to require NSHE students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afterwards, Board of Regents Chair Cathy McAdoo and NSHE Chancellor Melody Rose released the following statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to thank the Board of Regents and the many students, faculty and staff who took the time to observe and participate in today\u2019s State Board of Health meeting. We have a shared commitment to our collective health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also want to thank the medical and health experts on the State Board of Health for convening to discuss matters of public health for the Nevada System of Higher Education.
