{"id":1160,"date":"2021-09-14T21:40:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T21:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/?post_type=nshe_news&#038;p=1160"},"modified":"2023-02-21T17:18:19","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:18:19","slug":"nshe-board-of-regents-receives-institutional-metrics-for-wnc","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/system-administration\/news\/2021\/09\/nshe-board-of-regents-receives-institutional-metrics-for-wnc\/","title":{"rendered":"NSHE Board of Regents Receives Institutional Metrics for WNC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Western Nevada College\u00a0President Vincent Solis recently presented\u00a0the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents with <a href=\"https:\/\/nshe.nevada.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/file\/BoardOfRegents\/Agendas\/2021\/09-sep-mtgs\/bor-refs\/BOR-11.pdf\">updated metrics\u00a0relating to the institution\u2019s performance<\/a>\u00a0in NSHE\u2019s five strategic goals of Access, Student Success, Closing the Achievement Gap, Workforce Education, and Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe metrics associated with these goals serve as a benchmark for&nbsp;measuring improvement in Nevada\u2019s system of higher education,\u201d Board of Regents Chair&nbsp;Cathy McAdoo&nbsp;said. \u201cThe&nbsp;goals allow us to track our growth and improvement which in turn assists the Board of Regents and NSHE institutions in making data driven decisions regarding outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair McAdoo&nbsp;added the metrics help increase transparency and accountability for how Nevada\u2019s public higher education institutions are performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNSHE remains committed to improving our state\u2019s higher education system and monitoring these metrics will show what is working and where we can enhance our efforts,\u201d&nbsp;she&nbsp;said. \u201cI am encouraged by the dedication of our institutions to improve student access and success, especially during this time of tremendous challenges to the health and financial stability of our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSHE\u2019s strategic goals guide all eight NSHE institutions in supporting the state\u2019s growing economy with an increasing demand for an educated workforce.
