Anthony L. Williams
Regent Williams was appointed by Governor Sandoval in April 2018 to serve out the remaining term as the District 1 representative. He currently serves as vice chair of the Cultural Diversity and Title IX Compliance Committee. He is also a member of the Athletics Committee; the Business, Finance and Facilities Committee; and the Investment Committee.
Regent Williams is a U.S. Navy Veteran having served aboard the forward deployed USS Hewitt during Operation Desert Storm. Sanctioned by President George H.W. Bush, he was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal with a Bronze Star for his service. He also was awarded the Battle Efficiency “E” Ribbon, an award bestowed upon the ship that successfully completed a year-long evaluation period demonstrating the highest level of battle readiness. He was Honorably discharged and remains a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
He is a 10 year Operations Executive with MGM Resorts International and is currently the Vice President of Engineering Operations at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino where he continues to successfully foster an environment that encourages and implements the latest in process improvements producing overall employee and guest satisfaction. He has worked at additional company iconic brands including Mirage, Luxor and The Excalibur.
Regent Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix. He is a 2011 Leadership Las Vegas Alumni and an MGM Resorts Leadership Institute graduate.
He is also a Nevada state Licensed General Contractor registered under both the B-General and E-2 license classifications specializing in hospitality, entertainment, and food & beverage concepts. This broad experience as a Construction and Development Executive allows him to successfully integrate projects regardless of scope into the day-to-day operations with minimum disruption to the business imperatives.
Regent Williams believes in servant leadership within community. He has served on several Boards of Directors: Nevada Professional Facilities Management Association, President; Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, Board Member; First Tee of Southern Nevada, Board Chair/President; and Southern Nevada Golf Association, Board Member.
Regent Williams and his family live in North Las Vegas.
