Nicole Thomas was born and raised in Las Vegas and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Her research focuses on the intersection of science and the public. She has previously earned an M.S. in Science Education and a B.S. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She has worked as a research assistant both at UNLV and at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) and was recognized as an NV NASA Space Grant Fellow. Nicole is currently the 2022-2023 President of the Graduate & Professional Student Association, where she represents over 4,000 graduate and professional students. Additionally, she serves as the Graduate Assistant for CSUN, the undergraduate student government, where she assists in advising committees and working with students individually to meet their goals. Upon graduation, she plans to continue her work with advocacy, policy, and science education while remaining involved with higher education in Nevada.
