Lauren Porter is honored to be serving her third term with the Nevada State Student Alliance (NSSA) and first term as Student Body President. She is currently entering her senior year at Nevada State College in the School of Nursing with minors in Psychology and Professional Writing. Her efforts within NSSA and the community have allotted her many opportunities to have a positive and lasting impact. She has prioritized her academic journey and maintained Dean’s list and above status. Lauren’s top priority is the well-being of the students she serves, particularly concerning their mental health. Over this past year, she saw the need and helped create the #StingOutStigma movement and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline placement on all student, faculty, and staff ID cards. Lauren has a passion for policy and student advocacy. She carries a solid belief in the holistic student experience and lives in the understanding that student’s lives matter while on their educational journey. Moving forward, Lauren hopes to bring mental health to the forefront of student life. She strives to exemplify the Nevada State motto: Be Bold. Be Great. Be State.
