Tamara Guinn serves as the 2019-20 president of the Graduate Student Association at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is currently in her second term as GSA president and working toward her Ph.D. in Equity and Diversity in Education.
Tamara started with the Graduate Student Association in 2017 as a council member representing the College of Education. She was elected vice-president of external affairs in the fall of 2018, then was elected as president in the spring of 2019.
Tamara was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Her higher education journey at the University of Nevada, Reno started in 2006 where she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies.
Tamara is dedicated to giving back to the University of Nevada and surrounding community. As GSA President her mission is to promote inclusivity, mental and physical health, and connectedness. She strives to ensure that graduate students feel welcome and that their voices matter.
